Looking to make a difference in your community? Consider volunteering at the First Step Family Resource Center. Whether you’re an individual looking to give back or a corporate group seeking team-building opportunities, we have a variety of ways to get involved. ​

Whether you have just a few hours to spare or are looking for a regular commitment, we can accommodate your availability. Volunteers can choose from one-time or recurring scheduling options.

Volunteer orientations scheduled monthly. Interested? Complete an application. Background checks are required for all volunteers. 

Application

Our volunteer opportunities include:

• Youth and Family Activities: Support our programs and events that provide resources and support to local children and families including reading for early literacy, facilitating arts and crafts, or other fun activities.
• Play with Purpose: Supervise toddlers for safety and wellness while mentoring parents and role modeling play for learning. Provide child watch during parenting programs.
• Fundraising Events: Help plan, organize, and execute fundraising events to support our important work.
• Administrative Support: Assist with office tasks, data entry, activities' preparation, and other administrative duties.
• Front Desk Staff: Welcome and assist visitors at our Family Resource Center. Additional duties may include answering phones and routing calls.
• Computer Assistance: Teach computer skills or coach career development, assist with resume writing, employment applications, or public assistance applications. 
• Cleaning and Maitenance: Help clean and maintain facility. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, vacuuming rugs, washing walls, furniture, toys, and glass, and remove garbage.
