Car Seat Distribution Program

Ardent Solutions is pleased to assist low income families and others to have access to the correct seat for every child at every age. Car seats are made available for free to parents and legal guardians of children from birth until the child is ready to ride safely without a seat.

In Cattaraugus County, families meeting eligibility requirements may also contact the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Department at 1-800-443-3403 to access a child passenger safety seat.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility requirements for participating in the Child Safety Seat Distribution Program are as follows:
  • Family must be low-income; including those who receive benefits through WIC, SNAP, Medicaid, TANF. If your family is not currently receiving benefits, please see the federal income guidelines below to determine your families eligibility.

  • One of the child's primary caregivers must attend a 1-hour class about child passenger safety.
  • Someone in the household must have a vehicle.

Pregnant women in their last trimester are encouraged to participate. Ardent Solutions does not provide "infant carriers" but provides convertible seats which can be used rear-facing for young children and then can be converted to forward-facing use when appropriate.

Booster seats for older children are also available. Assistance is designed to be one-time only.
To learn more about Ardent Solutions' Child Safety Seat Distribution Program, please contact Becky Nelson at 585-593-5223, ext. 1000.
