Diapers are a basic need no baby should ever go without.
But the truth is every day babies and toddlers in Allegany County go without the diapers they need to stay clean and healthy.
What is Every Bottom Covered?
Every Bottom Covered is a diaper bank in Buffalo NY partnering with local organizations who have like-minded missions to assist families in need throughout Western New York. A diaper bank is similar to a food bank with the difference that we distribute diapers and not food.
Every Bottom Covered addresses diaper need in Western New York. By providing diapers, wipes and other baby needs to families, Every Bottom Covered helps to address an unmet need. One in three families suffers from diaper need in the U.S. Based on present funding in NYS and many other areas in the United States, diapers cannot be purchased with food stamps. Babies who remain too long in a soiled diaper are exposed to increased health risks and concerns. Diaper need creates additional stress and concern for the family as well. Most child care centers, even free and subsidized facilities, require parents to provide a day’s supply of disposable diapers; therefore, many parents cannot go to work or school if they cannot leave their babies at child care.
What defines diaper need?
Diaper need is the lack of a sufficient supply of diapers to remain clean, dry, and healthy.
