Allegany County Joins Million Hearts Campaign

Ardent Solutions, as part of the Allegany County Wellness Committee, is proud to join the National Campaign preventing 1 million heart attacks and strokes in the next 5 years requiring commitment from everyone—health care providers, pharmacies, hospitals, employers, communities, and individuals too.

Heart disease and stroke are the first and fourth leading causes of death  in the United States, making cardiovascular disease responsible for 1 of every 3 deaths in the country. Americans suffer more than 2 million heart attacks and strokes each year, and everyday, 2,200 people die from cardiovascular disease.

Further, heart disease and stroke are among the leading causes of disability in our country, with more than 3 million people reporting serious illness and decreased quality of life.

Blood Pressure Monitoring

High Blood Pressure increases your risk for a Heart Attack or Stroke. You don't always have to go to your doctor's office to have your blood pressure checked; you may be able to monitor your own blood pressure at home or in the community.

Check out this list of Community Blood Pressure Sites and download the American Heart Associations FREE Blood Pressure Guide including a Blood Pressure Monitoring recording chart.
