Allegany County Health Ministries Network

Health is viewed as a gift and a way of relational living in community. These caring ministries are an essential part of congregational life. They incorporate the values, beliefs, and practices of a faith community as components in motivating persons toward health and wholeness. Health promotion and faith beliefs are integrated into the normal cycles of life – birth, wellness, development, maturation, illness, and death – to celebrate life; to enhance coping, wholeness, and a sense of peace; and improve community well-being.

Our Purpose

Allegany County's Health Ministry Network:
  1. Supports our community by celebrating holistic health;
  2. Provides opportunities to collaborate and connect with peers with a shared vision for community well-being
  3. Promotes educational topics relating to faith and health
  4. Collaborates with local community groups in promoting whole person health within their congregations
  5. Provides a forum for the exchange of ideas concerning faith and health matters
  6. Fosters faith and health partnerships between communities of faith and local health systems, local health organizations and community-based organizations.
 Our possibilities are endless!

Connecting your Congregation with Local Resources

Connecting parishioners to local resources is an important role and responsibility for faith-leaders. Searching for help and services to share with your congregation? Start here!
NY Connects Resource Directory
Search local resources related to long term services and supports that can help you or a family member stay at home, stay in the community, or stay independent; learn more about aging and disability resources available in your community; decide what services would be best for you or someone you know; and get help in linking to the services that you need.
